Position description / Job description
- Provide individual and group support to students aged 8-16 (Years 4-11) with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
- Create a nurturing and supportive environment for boys with SEMH needs.
- Assist teachers with classroom management and behaviour support.
- Implement strategies to help students manage their emotions and behaviours.
- Build rapport with young people, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
- Collaborate effectively within a team of professionals.
- Contribute to the development of individualised education plans.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions.
Requirements
We're looking for you, if:
- Minimum 6 months' experience working with students with SEMH needs.
- Relevant experience preferred; a related qualification (e.g., in education or youth work) would be advantageous.
- Proven ability to build rapport with young people; patience, empathy, and understanding; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience implementing behaviour management strategies.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Commitment to supporting students' social, emotional, and mental health development.
