Summary
As our founding Head you will:
- Secure DfE registration - develop the Statement of Provision, policies and regulatory evidence, working closely with our Education Director.
- Design the service - craft the curriculum, schemes of work and assessment model, ensuring every pupil receives a trauma‑informed, research‑anchored education.
- Recruit and inspire a dream team - SEN teachers, Business Development Officer, administrators and HR Officer.
- Embed practice that changes lives - co‑create training on trauma‑informed methods and neuro‑diversity, and integrate evidence‑based tools with our clinicians so every learner has a robust baseline and progress pathway.
- Innovate with technology - lead the pilot of AVI robots to extend classroom presence for pupils and remote support for staff.
- Assure quality - put in place rigorous audits, supervision and CPD cycles that meet (and exceed) Ofsted Independent School Standards.
- Champion safeguarding and wellbeing - model a culture of psychological safety, reflective practice and relentless optimism.
About you

Desirable
UK‑qualified teacher with successful senior leadership & Headship (or equivalent) experience
Previous virtual / alternative‑provision leadership
Proven track record of securing or maintaining Ofsted 'Good'+
Experience opening or registering a new school
Deep knowledge of SEND legislation & SEMH practice
Published action research or contribution to sector innovation
Skilled in curriculum design, QA and staff development
Familiarity with EdTech, telepresence or blended‑learning models
Passionate advocate of trauma‑informed, inclusive education
Manchester‑based network across LA, NHS and VCFSE sectors
