We are looking for a proactive and caring Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team, working in a mixed Year 2/3 class. This is a wonderful opportunity to help children thrive academically and emotionally during a vital stage in their primary education. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant:
Provide support to pupils across Year 2 and Year 3, both in class and through small group interventions.
Assist the teacher with planning, classroom organisation, and preparation of learning materials.
Reinforce key skills in reading, writing, phonics and maths.
Support pupils with additional needs, including those with SEND, in line with individual learning plans.
Help maintain a positive, inclusive and well-structured learning environment.
Ideal Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant:
Have experience working with KS1 and/or lower KS2 pupils, preferably in a mixed-age class.
Be confident delivering phonics and early literacy support.
Be patient, flexible and committed to supporting children’s learning and development.
Work well as part of a team and independently when needed as a Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant.
Hold a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or have equivalent experience.
