Summary

Maintenance Operative

Location: Bristol, BS32 4QQ

Hours of work: 40

Contract Type: Permanent

We’re seeking a proactive and multi-skilled Maintenance Operative to join our team in a permanent role, covering just two corporate office sites located in Bristol and Gloucester.

With a strong bias towards fabric maintenance and general building repairs, this position offers the chance to work in a stable, well-supported environment where your efforts will have a direct impact.

Job Description

This is a role well-suited to someone who enjoys variety in their day-to-day tasks and values working in a close-knit team.

You’ll benefit from a very supportive team culture, where ownership, initiative and a positive attitude are genuinely appreciated. With only two sites to manage, you’ll avoid the demands of long-distance travel, allowing you to focus on quality and consistency in your work.

A company van is provided, making it easy to move between the two locations. You’ll be part of a team that values reliability and professionalism, where your skills and contributions will be recognised and where there’s a real opportunity to grow and thrive.

If you're someone who enjoys problem-solving and takes pride in maintaining well-functioning buildings, this role could be the ideal next step in your career.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with schedules, including statutory tasks
Complete general reactive and lifecycle maintenance tasks across the site
Undertake fabric maintenance including painting, patch repairs, fixing holes in walls, and basic joinery
Conduct minor plumbing works such as basic toilet repairs and drainage maintenance
Perform small-scale external works including paving repairs and reinstatement
Carry out water hygiene tasks such as flushing and temperature readings
Work independently or within a team to complete tasks safely and efficiently

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

Experience working in FM or building services within a corporate office or similar environment preferred
Previous experience in a Fabric Technician, Handyperson, or Caretaker role
Full UK Driving Licence required
