Are you passionate about museum collections and love getting the details right?
We're looking for a meticulous and motivated Collections Information Officer to join the Ipswich Museums team at an exciting time of change.
As part of the curatorial team within Colchester and Ipswich Museums, you'll be responsible for keeping our collections records in shape from acquisitions and loans to digital cataloguing and rationalisation. This role is central to making sure our collections are well-documented, accessible and cared for, supporting everything from everyday enquiries to major redisplay projects.
You'll lead on managing our collections management system (Axiell), support rationalisation and disposal processes, and help others across the team - and beyond - make the most of our data. You'll also supervise volunteers and trainees and help us use digital tools and technology to share our collections more widely.
If you bring precision, a proactive mindset, and a genuine enthusiasm for museum documentation and data management, wed love to hear from you.
