Summary


Due to the career growth of colleagues, we are looking for a new Wellbeing Practitioner to join the Wellbeing team in Merton Talking Therapies as the service moves forward with the ambition to place co-production with local communities at the heart of our service.

The Wellbeing Team undertakes targeted work to connect and partner with a range of groups and communities who have not traditionally accessed Talking Therapies. We also support Talking Therapies clients to remain motivated and engaged with therapy. We are an enthusiastic, creative and supportive team that thrives on collaboration and finding solutions to barriers.

The post holder will support individuals to access and engage with talking therapies through the delivery of co-production, group workshop delivery and inclusive conversations in community settings. You will be using co-production and a strength-based approach to empower and motivate those who access our services in partnership with our partners: Wimbledon Guild, Focus-4-1 and Polish Family Association.

Successful applicants will be passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of individuals as well as the wider community. You will be skilled in engaging a variety of stakeholders and be able to positively challenge stigma and discrimination using your excellent communication skills. You will have experience working directly with people in a health or social care setting and ideally have experience offering health information to groups or individuals.

About our locations:

The role is based in the Business Generator Centre in Mitcham, although travel across the whole of the Merton Borough is a core part of the role

Group Facilitation

• To develop high standard interventions and group workshop content and resources in line with client and community need

• To facilitate or co-facilitate interventions in a group or individual basis, arranging sessions, collating materials and resources as required

• To risk assess and manage group dynamics both on site and in the community

• To undertake protocol based psychological assessments of clients including self-report measures and rating scales

• To promote and discuss wellbeing interventions with potential participants, staff and stakeholders to encourage attendance and engagement

• Prepare for interventions and sessions including understanding material and appropriate delivery method given range of needs presented by group participants

• Attend post intervention appraisals to review feedback forms and objectives

• To maintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping and report writing in accordance with Trust policies and procedures and relevant professional codes of practice.

• To assist the Wellbeing Lead and others in undertaking data collection, analysis and production of reports and summaries, in relation to primary care mental health services.



Co-Production

• To edit, reflect and adapt intervention content in line with co-production discussions across community groups, in particular older people’s community organisations

• To work with community members to develop specific and tailored interventions for explicit groups

• To help research and draft marketing material for publication by the team, supporting other members of the team and working with managers across the service.

• To assist in the implementation of service co-production projects as required.



Community Engagement

• To proactively engage and work with individuals, families and groups to develop bespoke interventions to meet a variety of need

• To develop strong links with established agencies, community organisations and forums related to the role

• To develop collaborative partnership working with other primary care services

• To work strategically within a marketing and engagement plan

• To develop community drop-ins across the borough

• To identify those communities least likely to access services and target with a community engagement plan

• To deliver interventions across a range of community locations

• To provide presentations and interventions to organisations and community groups

• To raise awareness of wellbeing and mental health across the borough, challenging stigma and discrimination



Social media

• To be responsible for some of the day to day updating of the Merton Uplift social media platforms under the direction of the Wellbeing including recording and reporting regular information and trends on ‘followers’ and ‘likes’.

• To use social media to market and promote the wellbeing teams community work and drop ins to encourage local engagement with the service.
