We, TLT, are looking for dynamic, self-motivated, experienced and ambitious Paralegals with an ambition to work for a forward-thinking law firm as a Contract Senior Paralegal.
TLT handle all aspects of mortgage enforcement, including repossession litigation, customer contact, and the sale of repossessed properties. We act for various mortgage lenders in the UK, specialising in both residential and commercial mortgages.
The role will be on an initial 3-6 month contract, with potential for extension, and will be paid a day rate via an Umbrella Company.
This role requires office attendance in Bristol, so we ask that applicants reside within the Bristol region or within a commutable distance to our Bristol offices.
Your Role
- Responsible for own caseload of repossession files, referring all legal aspects to the Team Supervisor or Team Manager.
- Managing and organising case files, documents, and evidence, often involving large volumes of data and litigation support software.
- Processing new matters using case management system.
- Use case management system to action workflow entries on a daily basis and from the Schedule for individual files.
- Ensure that all matters are billed promptly.
- Preparation of management information and essential reports.
- May be involved in supervising junior paralegals or legal assistants to support them with their workload.
- Regularly updating clients on case progress and ensuring prompt billing.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, company policies, and data protection regulations.
Your Skills and Experience
- At least 12 months of previous paralegal experience.
- Strong understanding of mortgage law, property law, and related legal procedures.
- Excellent ability to manage a busy caseload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients, colleagues, and external parties.
- Meticulous approach to reviewing documents, preparing legal documents, and ensuring accuracy.
- Ability to identify and resolve legal and practical issues related to repossession cases.
- To demonstrate a natural compassion with Clients and a good telephone manner, with a clear diction.
- Proactivity and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
