Summary
Assistant ER Advisor
Birmingham - Full Time
You will be joining a team of talented, solution focussed and driven employee relations specialists. Our purpose is to support our managers to make Mitie a great place to work. We advise and coach managers in their management of ER cases, upholding fair and just policies in-line with legislation and best practice whilst balancing risk and commerciality to deliver the best results for our business.
This is a hybrid role normally 1 to 2 days per week in the office, with flexible working available. We support continuous development including those who wish to continue or begin their CIPD studies.
What are the main responsibilities?
-Management of your own caseload of ER issues using your knowledge in ER and employment law, from receipt of a case through to its conclusion
-Provide HR advice in relation to HR policy, practices & procedures
-Utilise technology, including our case management system, to remotely deliver a quality service to our customers
-Handle inbound ER phone calls from our customers
-Exposure to a wide variety of contracts across many sectors, both public and private
-Be part of a wider customer service focussed People Support team, Mitie's central HR function
What are we looking for?
-Employee Relations knowledge or keen interest in Employee Relations
-CIPD qualified or looking for the opportunity to be supported with your studies
-Proficient IT skills including MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
-An understanding of HR systems would be an advantage.
-Keen interest in Employment Law.
-Strong understanding of and respect for confidentiality.

-Strong customer service focus, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
-Strong case management skills where there are competing priorities
-Well organised, with the ability to work to tight deadlines and excellent attention to detail.
