Summary

Government Skills, formally Government Skills and Curriculum unit, was created in 2020 to improve the coherence and quality of learning and development in government through better training, knowledge and networks. It is the backbone behind The Campus, a term used to unite all the locations, on and offline, where over 450,000 Civil Servants across Government develop the skills, knowledge and networks they need.

As we move into a new era under a new Government the aim is to reduce the cost of learning and improve the quality of outputs by moving to a new operating model. This is an exciting time of growth for Government Skills with new positions being created to support the future operating model.

The Administrative Support Officers will provide essential support within the Government People Group’s College for National Security (CfNS). This unit aims to enhance the skills, knowledge, and networks of national security policymakers across the UK, with backing from 22 departments, agencies, and devolved administrations. This role is ideal for individuals looking to contribute to national security initiatives in a supportive capacity.

The Administrative Support Officers will be responsible for delivering comprehensive administrative assistance and supporting the organisation of meetings and events related to Agile programme management. The role includes ensuring adherence to health and safety, GDPR, and other relevant regulations while supporting the team in achieving its objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in supporting the delivery of Agile events as needed.
  • Participate in in-person events, helping with logistics and coordination.
  • Collect and input data to assist in tracking project progress.
  • Respond to enquiries in a timely manner.
  • Help arrange meetings and coordinate travel/venue bookings.
  • Support the communications platform to facilitate effective team communication.
  • Assist in creating surveys and gathering feedback for project evaluation.
