Summary
Working Pattern: Part-time, 22.5 hours per week over 3 days.
Work Location: Hybrid – 1 in-person day (preferably Wednesday) and 2 days working from home. Flexibility on which 3 days are worked, subject to agreement.
Role Summary:
This role is responsible for the financial and commissioning aspects of Home to School Travel, working closely with the Strategic Commissioner for SEND and other stakeholders to ensure efficient, informed, and child-focused travel arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:

Take responsibility for all aspects of Home to School Travel finance, including the authorisation of payments within a clearly defined framework.

Support the continuous review and development of financial and related processes, engaging with relevant stakeholders to drive improvements.

Provide timely, accurate, and effective financial and commissioning support to the Strategic Commissioner for SEND, including input into the Joint Strategic Needs Analysis (JSNA) for SEND.

Coordinate the planning and management of Home to School Travel, maintaining oversight of travel routes to inform and support commissioning decisions.

Contribute to the delivery of One Swindon’s priorities by supporting educational opportunities that build the right skills for the right jobs in the right places, and by helping individuals help themselves while ensuring support for the most vulnerable children and adults.
