Overview
This is a unique opportunity to join a high-impact, values-driven UK membership body as Assistant Director of Change and Programmes. You will lead the planning, execution, and assurance of transformational programmes-most notably within Fitness to Practise (FtP) and the organisation-wide Modernisation of Systems (MOTS) initiative.
As the driving force behind major programmes, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering a portfolio of high-priority change initiatives that underpin the organisation's refreshed corporate strategy. You will lead the delivery of two major internal programmes, working closely with stakeholders and C-suite executives to understand their priorities, provide regular progress updates, and offer strategic insight into how best to drive these programmes forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the end-to-end delivery of major transformation programmes (FtP and MOTS), aligning them with strategic goals and capacity constraints.
- Work closely with executive leaders, including the Executive Director for Professional Regulation and the Executive Board, to prioritise and sequence initiatives.
- Oversee programme planning, delivery assurance, and risk management, ensuring transparency, strong governance, and evidence-based decision-making.
- Develop and maintain robust programme and change delivery frameworks-ensuring outputs are on time, on budget, and deliver measurable benefits.
- Manage dependencies, risks, and escalations within the FtP portfolio and, when required, collaborate with the Head of the Portfolio Office to align with wider organisational priorities.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of project, programme, and change professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, inclusivity, and continuous improvement.
- Report to key governance bodies including the Executive Board and Portfolio Board, offering insights and recommendations for delivery assurance.
- Champion best practice in benefits realisation, change management, and customer-centric service design.
