Working Pattern: (Rolling 8 week rota) Shifts on rota: 06:00 - 14:00; 14:00 - 22:00; 22:00 - 06:00; 08:00 - 16:00
You will be required to work all of the above shifts

Hourly Rate: £12.50 - £18.75

We’re seeking a full-time Switchboard Operator to join the team at Worcestershire Royal Hospital. In this crucial role, you’ll be responsible for connecting callers to the appropriate departments and contacts.

You’ll handle over 3,000 calls per day, assisting with both internal and external inquiries — including emergency calls.

The Role

Answer internal and external calls withing agreed KPI and SLA agreements

Provide efficient, courteous, and helpful support to callers

Operate internal bleep system

Proactively maintain the computer database of hospital personnel, departments and telephone numbers

Undertake any clerical duties deemed necessary in order to promote efficient at all times

Required to work public and bank holidays, should your shift fall on that day as our department operates 24/7, 365 days a year

About You

Important to have good communication and clerical skills

Be reliable and able to work well as part of a team
Able to cope well under pressure

Previous experience is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided
