We are looking for an experienced Compliance Manager to join us who is self-motivated and has broad experience in all the challenges that working in the property industry can bring.

About you…
Reporting to the Head of Strategic Asset Management, you will be expected to lead on the council's building compliance with the support of the wider team with experience in a similar role, including managing budgets and ensuring the timely completion of projects.

Excellent communication skills are essential, with the ability to build a rapport with colleagues, tenants and other professionals.

About the team…
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Compliance Manager to join a proactive team providing professional building advice, building services, repairs, maintenance, condition surveys and business support across the council.

Key responsibilities…
You will be responsible for leading on the property compliance function (gas, electrical, water hygiene, Asbestos, fire safety, lifts and escalators, lightning conductors etc) across our commercial and retail, leisure, adult social care and other operational properties ensuring compliance with all statutory regulations, Approved Codes of Practice (ACOP), official standards and best practice.

Overseeing and directing contractors to carry out compliance testing and remedial works on the council’s directly managed properties, as well as monitoring and auditing both directly managed and outsourced managed properties.

You will establish regular compliance meetings to provide updated information on standards of all elements of health and safety.
