Summary
Contracts Manager - Groundworks, RC Structures & Frames - Progressive Contractor focussed on delivering contracts from £1m - £15m in value.
Covering the South Coast of England and focussed on the Counties of Hampshire, East & West Sussex, Surrey, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire & Dorset.
Description of role:
Pre-start planning and continuous live operational support for all labour, plant, material, subcontractor and client needs.

Role responsibilities:
Lead prestart meetings to project team with Project Manual minimum 4 weeks before works commence. Complete budget with labour and plant forecasting, monitor as job progresses. Setup Site Manager to plan works before project commences to go through all drawings, detail and specification to create labour, plant, materials list to set up on-site.
Ensure Site Management inducts every operative to the company induction.
To plan all works on site 4 weeks ahead updated every week.
Ensure every day is productive.
Provide continual support for site managers on phone and email when not on site.
Manage a minimum of 4nr projects at one time.
All contracts to ideally finish ahead of programme with savings on labour, plant, and materials.
Continuously monitor Labour, plant, and materials to ensure an efficient build.
Move labour, plant & materials between jobs depending on wider business needs, so that the company is always operating at maximum efficiency.
Ordering of drainage, concrete and paving must be Contract Manager led.
Take-offs and deliveries carried out and directed by Contract Manager.
Walk site with Site Manager and talk to all operatives on every visit to get feel for the job.
Support everyone around you; Clients and workforce
Schedule repeat Weekly Progress Meetings with client and our site management.
Run through weekly activities as per the company's standard agenda.
Action everything physically possible before you leave site.
Ensure all actions completed at following weeks visit.
Ensure all contract notices are issued and dealt with each week.
Prepare, issue and amend RAMS and Safe Systems of Works before works commence and as required.
Carry out a safety inspection on every visit, action all findings immediately.
Check and ensure that operatives have been inducted, that the correct drawing register and drawings are being used, tasks are being carried out to the company's Safe System of Works, permits in place, plant inspected PUWER & LOLER, QMP being followed, Toolbox talks are being carried out, appropriate signage is in place, safety equipment being used, making good being closely followed behind works and any NCR's actioned.
Check weekly paperwork returns and that they are appropriately uploaded to relevant Server files.
Be available on phone to support your site teams with safe and practical solutions.
Ensure jobs handed over with email notice as works progress.
Confirm all Practical Completion with email.
Issue O&M manuals, post pour surveys and cube results to client.
Provide any temporary cover on site to any site manager absence.
Mandatory Weekly meetings at head office for labour and plant resource and planning.
Training/ qualifications:
No formal qualifications are sought in respect of this role. It is a requirement that candidates can demonstrate relevant experience in a similar role and demonstrate a sound technical knowledge of working within process and to deadlines.
