Summary
Teaching and Learning Assistant (Early Years)
St John Fisher (RC) Primary School – West Wimbledon
28.75 hours per week 38 weeks p.a. (08:15–12:00 & 12:30-15:30 Monday to Friday)
Starting 1st September 2025
Scale: ME4 - Point 3 starting salary (Point 3 full time salary £27,729 pro-rata, pay award pending)
Equivalent approximate monthly salary: £1,608 gross (pay award pending)
Fixed term until 17th July 2026 in the first instance
St John Fisher RC Primary School is looking for an Early Years Foundation Stage Teaching and Learning Assistant working with Early Years who is passionate about children’s learning and emotional wellbeing, to work alongside our experienced teaching staff. The successful candidate may be required to support children with additional needs, in order to enable them to fully access the teaching and learning to reach their potential. At times this will include working with groups of children, both in and outside of the classroom, under the guidance of the class teacher and special educational needs coordinator.
We are looking for individuals who have:
• Enthusiasm and determination to make a difference to pupil progress
• Previous experience of working with children with SEN needs on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
• Enthusiastic about working with vulnerable children
• Passionate about meeting children’s learning needs
• Good English and Mathematics skills
• Good standard of spoken English
• A good communicator and team member who is caring, flexible and approachable
The successful applicant will work under the direction of the Inclusion Manager/Class Teacher to support groups and individual pupils.
