Summary

Job Description – Joiner/Partitioner (Classroom Fit-Out Project)

We are currently looking for an experienced Partitioner to assist with a classroom refurbishment project, installing partition walls and completing both 1st and 2nd fix works.

Position Details:

  • Job Title: Joiner/Partitioner


  • Pay Rate: £25 per hour


  • Location: Plymouth


  • Start Date: Immediate


  • CSCS Requirement: Valid Blue CSCS Card essential


    Key Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Installing partition (false) walls and stud wall systems to create new classroom spaces


    • Measuring, cutting, and assembling metal and timber stud frames accurately


    • Fitting plasterboard to partition frames, ensuring smooth and secure finish (1st Fix)


    • Completing 2nd fix tasks such as installing door frames, skirting boards, and finishing trims


    • Reading and interpreting site drawings, plans, and specifications


    • Working to tight tolerances to deliver a high-quality finish suitable for an educational environment


    • Ensuring all installations are plumb, level, and secure


    • Liaising with other trades and site supervisors to ensure smooth project progress


    • Maintaining a clean and tidy work area


    • Following all site health & safety procedures


      Requirements:

      ✔ Valid CSCS Blue Skilled Worker Card – essential
      ✔ Proven experience in both 1st and 2nd fix partitioning/joinery
      ✔ Own tools and full PPE required
      ✔ Ability to read and work from technical drawings
      ✔ Reliable, punctual, and professional approach to work
