SEN Lead - Permanent - Croydon
Job description
You will work closely with the Headteacher and senior team to design, implement and monitor provision that is both rigorous and compassionate. This role is ideal for an experienced leader with a strong background in autism education and inclusive strategy.
Key responsibilities:
- Leading the school's SEN strategy in line with statutory requirements and best practice
- Supporting and developing the SENCO and SEN teaching team
- Ensuring robust systems are in place for EHCP implementation and progress tracking
- Driving improvement through staff coaching, CPD and quality assurance
- Working with external professionals and local authority partners to ensure consistent support
Required experience and qualities:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and senior leadership experience in SEND settings
- Deep understanding of autism, SEMH and the needs of pupils in PRU environments
- Skilled in mentoring staff and supporting whole-school development
- Data-literate, reflective and focused on sustainable impact
