A welcoming and supportive primary school in Dudley is looking to appoint one skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This full-time position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the life of a child with special educational needs, particularly Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and/or Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN).
Role Overview – SEN Teaching Assistant-
Start Date: Immediate or September 2025

Full-time, term-time role – Monday to Friday

Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with identified or emerging SEND
-
Collaborate with teachers, SENDCos, and specialist staff
-
Help the pupil access learning, build confidence, and develop independence
-
Join a welcoming school community committed to inclusion and progress
Key Responsibilities:-
Offer tailored 1:1 support for a child with autism and/or communication needs

Assist in implementing personalised support strategies and learning plans
-
Work closely with the classroom teacher to ensure inclusive learning

Encourage emotional wellbeing, social development, and positive behaviour
-
Help monitor progress and adapt support as needed

Support small group activities when appropriate

Take part in training and ongoing professional development

Proven experience supporting children with SEND (essential)

Strong communication and relationship-building skills
