Emergency Response Team Leader



Location - Chichester

Shift Pattern - 4on 4off (days&nights)

Pay rate - £15.49



Mitie are recruiting Emergency Response Team Leader (fire & security role) to be employed at a major account in Goodwood. The position is a combined role consisting of emergency response (Security, fire, first aid, & fire prevention duties)



Responsible for managing the daily operations in accordance with the client and Mitie policy and procedures within the confines of UK workplace and H&S regulations, best practice and law.

To manage the day-to-day operational requirements of the contract in line with customer and contractual expectations. To be the initial contact on operational security matters, ensuring a consistent quality service delivery and prompt responses to all incidents.

To lead the Emergency Response Team to resolve on site incidents; reporting and escalating issues to the client management team.



Main duties



To be flexible, able to work 12-hour shifts including days, nights, public holidays and weekends either on a set shift pattern or on a relief basis, usually working a minimum of 42 average hours per week in line with business demands

Security

-Report & liaise with Mitie Management teams to ensure effective communication of all matters pertaining to the delivery of a high standard

-To plan and lead the daily security tasking of the Emergency Response Team

-Provide a highly visible security presence on and around the site

-Operate internal and external patrols

-Provide car park patrols and apply restrictions as required

-Operate search policy as per instructed

-Report writing on incidents, accidents, damage, suspicious activities

-Report immediately to the client any action or inaction which compromises safety

-Follow the client procedure for escalating events and incidents



Emergency response



-Lead the Emergency Response Team to resolve emergency incidents on site

-Actively respond to an emergency such as an uncontrolled fire or release of potentially harmful substances on site within the required timeframe

-Provide emergency medical care until the arrival of external emergency services

-Accident report writing, medical reports, medical log, transfer requests from OHD to/from hospital.

-Responding to spillages that may have a contamination impact to the environment

-Ensure the Emergency Response Team maintain all emergency equipment in a state of readiness, including cleanliness, repairing and testing as required to approved standards and procedures to undertake safety checks on emergency equipment provided for ERT use

-Lead and take part in continuous training and learning programmes by attending lectures, exercises, simulated incidents, practice drill sessions, security duties and other training associated with the role



Person Specification / skills



-Full clean Driving Licence



-Front line SIA licence



-Pass a medical and fire and rescue fitness test and maintain a level of personal fitness necessary to carry out all the duties of an Emergency Response Team member



-Pass in-house fire training and attend an initial Breathing Apparatus training course



-Ability to manage a team of Emergency Response Officers during their daily activity. Ability to lead an Emergency Response Team to resolve incidents (fire, environmental, medical, security)



-Pass all required security and background checks, including past 5-year employment history



-Will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing



-Professional appearance, approach, and positive attitude



-An in-date FREC 3 medical qualification (desirable)



-IT skills (basic/intermediate)



-Committed to on-going training and development
