Summary
Grade TR01: £31,964.00 per annum + £9,360.89 per annum compulsory contractual overtime (£41,324.89 total annual salary)
An additional allowance of £1,917.84 per annum will be applied upon joining the Call Out Rota at 6 Months Service. Additional Call Out Payments will also be applied.

We are now looking for an Approved Electrician to join our multi-disciplined maintenance team. You will be joining a team that provides exceptional customer services to an expanding world class estate.
The Opportunity:
Maintenance Services currently employ a mix of 85+ trades, semi skilled and trade apprentice staff within its department who are responsible for the service and repair of over 500 buildings within the University of Edinburgh estate.
We now require an Approved Electrician to join one of our multi-disciplined trade’s teams. You will be joining a team that provides exceptional customer services to an expanding world class estate.
You will have completed an appropriate Recognised SECCT electrical apprenticeship SQV3 or equivalent, hold a current SJIB Approved Electrician grading card and have gained considerable commercial installation and electrical maintenance experience. It is essential that you meet the criteria within the job description.
The role is predominantly carrying out both reactive and planned maintenance using an electronic maintenance system via smartphone. It would desirable that the postholder has similar experience of this method of work prioritisation.
A driving licence is essential as there will be a requirement to drive University vehicles.
The Maintenance Services Team also operates an emergency call out rota which you will join on reaching 6 months service. You be expected to take part in 6 weeks out of the year.
Your skills and attributes for success:
Significant experience of electrical maintenance, alterations, refurbishments or new installations within complex building services and estates.
Recognised SECCT electrical apprenticeship SQV3 or equivalent.
Hold a current SJIB Approved Electrician Grading Card.
Extensive knowledge of the Electricity at Work Act.
Experience using smart phones or similar technology to record and manage work.
UK driver’s licence.
