Summary

Corporate Debt Officers provide an efficient, high-quality debt recovery service responsible for the billing, collection, and recovery of council tax, housing benefit overpayments and sundry debt, including Adult Social Care debt, in line with regulations and procedures.

Those working in this position ensure all action is taken to maximise collection across the varied debt types. Maintaining a high standard of customer care whilst contributing towards the reduction of outstanding debt owed to the Council.
The role of Corporate Debt officer involves a great deal of multitasking and customer contact.
You will be required to actively pursue and collect outstanding monies owed to the Council specifically in respect of Council Tax, Sundry Debt (including Adult Social Care Debt), and Housing Benefit Overpayments.

A good knowledge of Local Authority Billing and Debt related legislation and sound understanding of Debt Recovery processes and options available is essential.
