Summary
Provide specialist nursing with a defined case load for cancer/benign patients including the setting of standards of care, assessment of care needs and the development and implementation and evaluation of programmes of care. To act as a link between the MDT and other primary and secondary care providers to provide a seamless pathway of care to patients across all Upper GI services. Provide a nursing contribution to policy and clinical service development within the upper GI service. Contribute to the Trust strategic agenda. Act as a key point of contact to ensure timely care and treatment for all patients on a upper GI pathway. Delivery of cancer review/benign outpatient clinics. Support the Upper GI Consultant Surgeons in results clinics. To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.
