Summary

This could be the opportunity you have been waiting for! About the role We have a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic people leader to join our organisation. We are at the beginning of a new 3 year strategy and the Director of People and OD will play a key role in the successful delivery of the corporate strategy and be accountable for achieving the People and OD objectives. Building on the work of the last 3 years, you will be responsible for continuing to drive sustainable cultural change and organisational development. You will act as a champion of our values and culture, having the confidence and ability to recognise and amplify the right behaviours whilst challenging and addressing inappropriate ones. You will oversee all people activity, including complex ER, talent management, workforce development and succession planning. You will also ensure that appropriate People Policies and Procedures are embedded across the organisation. The role will ensure our People and OD approaches enable a high performing, empowered, agile and engaged workforce where diversity and inclusion are valued. You will ensure that all relevant legal and regulatory obligations are met and provide leadership and direction in support of positive employee relations and workforce planning. You will ensure that a comprehensive annual delivery plan is in place with all members of your team clearly understanding their part and contribution. MHM is a national charity, and this role will include regular travel to meet the needs of the organisation. About you To be successful in the role you will be able to demonstrate visible and confident leadership, "living" the values of MHM and be able to lead your teams in achieving priorities identified in MHM's strategic plan. You will have highly developed persuading, communicating and interpersonal skills which will enable you to gain commitment, support, respect, trust and confidence of our key stakeholders. You will need to be able to demonstrate extensive People leadership experience at executive level, have a proven ability to lead, develop and shape people functions and have a strong working knowledge of people practices and employment legislation. You will have strong strategic planning skills, alongside excellent project management, analytical, evaluative and organisational skills. No two days are the same at MHM so you should be able to manage numerous conflicting priorities and deliver against multiple deadlines running simultaneously. Experience of working in a voluntary and community organisation or the health and social care sector would be an advantage, but not essential. Having worked at a similar level in a complex organisation, you will support organisational change and growth, and be proficient in working with a wide variety of stakeholders with a proven ability to inspire confidence at all levels of the organisation. What we offer The salary for the role is offered from £86,688 per annum depending on experience.
