Summary
To deliver, with a high level of skill and accuracy, radiotherapy treatments using external beam radiation and/or sealed sources. To assist the senior radiographers in the planning and marking up of patients treatments alongside clinicians and other team members. To be actively involved in the pre/post planning processes, including treatment course scheduling, calculations for treatment dose and programming of the treatment plan using computer systems. To actively undertake QA procedures within the department, including: Responsibility for preparation of Radiotherapy treatment and planning machines, for daily clinical use Invivo dosimetry monitoring daily radiation dose to the patient Treatment image review, including on-line corrections Fault Reporting To ensure patients holistic needs are cared for, by involving other health care professionals where necessary. To provide patients and carers with verbal and written advice specific to their needs. To ensure that accurate statistics and records are maintained, in line with the policies of the department. To assist in the organisation of the day to day running of the unit. To deputise, when necessary, for the Senior Radiographer.
