Summary
Fawkes & Reece are hiring for Freelance Quantity Surveyor's in the Northwest for a number of upcoming projects due to start soon. Projects are 5 days per week (some clients are hybrid working, some are full-time on-site).
Responsibilities as a Freelance Quantity Surveyor
- Prepare detailed cost plans and budgets for the project.
- Preparing, submitting, and agreeing monthly applications for payment with the client.
- Assist with initial budget preparation and ongoing budget management.
- Prepare tender documents including bills of quantities.
- Evaluate contract/ subcontractor quotations.
- Monitor project progress and prepare valuations and final accounts.
- Identify potential financial or legal risks and implement fixes.
- Provide regular updates and costs to client/ purchaser.
Requirements as a Freelance Quantity Surveyor
- Minimum 3 years previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
- Experience working on different types of projects.
- Including, Pricing & forecasting, Procurement (materials, plant, labour), and Subcontractor management.
- Hold a full UK driving licence (preferred).
- Willing to travel.
Preferable
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management
- Main contracting experience on new build high-rise residential projects
