Lead Civil Engineer - Infrastructure (Water/Wastewater)
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 per annum + Excellent Benefits
Location: Peterborough or suitable regional office (Hybrid working available)
Are you a highly experienced Civil Engineer with a passion for water infrastructure? Or perhaps you fancy taking a dive into a different Civils industry? We're looking for a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to provide critical technical leadership, mentor junior talent, and shape engineering standards across diverse clean water and water recycling projects. What you'll do:
You'll be our go-to technical expert, ensuring the highest standards of design quality and compliance. Your role will involve:
- Technical Assurance: In-depth review and guidance on civil and pipeline designs (drawings, models, calculations) for water/wastewater projects, ensuring compliance and quality.
- Leadership & Mentoring: Supporting engineering teams, leading design review meetings, and actively mentoring junior engineers.
- Innovation & Standards: Collaborating on engineering standards, driving continuous improvement, and developing innovative design solutions.
- Design Support: Providing timely responses to site queries and change requests, ensuring design integrity.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaising with various teams, including Assurance Lead Engineers, throughout project milestones.
- Risk Management: Applying robust risk management principles to all designs.
- Site Visits: Undertaking site visits as needed.
What you'll bring:
- Significant experience as a senior civil/infrastructure engineer, particularly within the water/wastewater sector.
- Detailed technical knowledge in potable and wastewater pipeline design (sewerage systems, trunk water mains, pressurised/gravity systems).
- Strong understanding of pipe materials, mechanical, civils, and hydraulic principles.
- Proven construction experience and excellent understanding of site coordination.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong IT skills.
- Ideally, a degree in water/wastewater engineering or a related subject.
