Summary
Job Purpose:
1. To be trained to undertake the same responsibilities as Early Years Educator
2 To contribute to a high quality caring environment for children. This includes creating a warm, friendly and stimulating atmosphere in which the children can develop emotionally, socially and educationally through individual attention and group activities.
Main duties and responsibilities:
1. Work (under supervision) with children in the Setting, to provide all aspects of care and supporting learning opportunities, which may include washing, changing and feeding
Specific Child Care Tasks:
• The preparation and completion of activities to suit the child's stage of development;
• To ensure that mealtimes are a time of pleasant social sharing;
• Washing and changing children as required;
• Providing comfort and warmth to an ill child
• To work as part of a team to deliver and meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage for all children.

2. To comply with all the organization’s policies and procedures, with specific reference to the Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy, at all times
3. Undertake training to obtain recognised qualifications/short courses relevant to your role and responsibilities
4. Know and implement the Setting’s confidentiality policy.
5. To be aware of all emergency and fire evacuation procedures.
6. To implement the daily routine in the base room
7. To act as a Keyworker to a group of children
You must hold a Level 2 in Early Years Education or equivalent for this post
You must complete an enhanced DBS check - or be signed up for the update service
You must have 2 current and previous early years named references
Other training-
Paediatric first aid training - desirable
Core Safeguarding and child protection training - desirable
Food hygiene training - desirable.
