This is an exciting time to join the Kinship Team within an Ofsted rated Outstanding, Independent Fostering Agency-Together for Children Fostering Sunderland. Together for Children have been commissioned by Sunderland City Council to provide fostering and kinship carer services for children and young people in Sunderland. The agency, established in April 2017 provides an ideal opportunity to be innovative and do things differently and to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and families.

We are looking for a skilled and experienced non-qualified worker, who has the passion and drive to ensure that children and young people in Sunderland who we care for and who become subject to Special Guardianship Orders, achieve the best outcomes and receive high quality services, particularly in terms of changes to the support children and their families require. The main tasks of the post will be the duty service for the team and providing support/advice to kinship carers and Special Guardians post Order – to promote the ongoing support to children and their wider families.

You will be working in an experienced and supportive team, which was established in 2019, with a key focus upon services to kinship carers.
Laptops and mobile phones are provided to make mobile and flexible working easier. We have introduced a career progression scheme which is underpinned by a professional learning and development plan. The role involves travelling and a clean driving licence and access to a car is required, to be considered for the post.
