As a Product Owner for Workday Payroll, you'll play a crucial role in overseeing, managing, and continuously improving our payroll system, in collaboration with internal and external partners. This role offers the opportunity to lead and innovate, driving the evolution of our payroll system in collaboration with Workday as a partner, to meet the dynamic needs of our business.
The purpose of this role is to assume overall ownership for the Workday payroll product, leading teams, and focusing on releasing incremental value within the product. The primary aim being to deliver value to colleagues, customers and stakeholders by ensuring the team focuses on the right priorities.
In this role you'll lead, direct and shape approaches to solving business and legislative challenges, and work in a highly collaborative manner to drive the team and stakeholders in meeting desired product and strategic outcomes.
What the role will entail:

Ruthlessly prioritise, refine, and lead the Workday payroll Product Backlog, ensuring that features, user stories, and improvements are aligned with business objectives and customer needs.

Work with other role types within the team, lab and wider function, to drive effective analysis, engagement and design thinking improvements to the E2E overall colleague experience.

Implement high quality, at pace, product release increments that meet business and legislative needs.

Accountability for Product change governance (e.g., CMIA / SPFIA) and Business Readiness activities (e.g., training and comms, testing and readiness for implementation) for their respective features, journeys or technology components.

Drive effective meeting cadence for the team, ensuring that focus is maintained on the release of value and adopting the use of empirical and performance related data to drive ongoing improvements to agile ways of working.

Lead the strategic relationship with Workday, as a payroll partner, to help shape and influence future product release features and drive ongoing optimisation of the payroll asset.

Support development of Team objectives and key results and provide product performance and benefits realisation data.

Investigate and resolve risks and incidents, including the development of contingency plans, and making appropriate prioritisation decisions in collaboration with our payroll centres of excellence.

Provide input into overall Product vision and Product roadmap.

It will be super if you have the following:

Experience in implementing and redefining large-scale payroll solutions, especially using Workday Payroll.

Proficiency in handling Workday payroll as a product

A sound understanding of payroll processes, compliance requirements, and standard methodologies.

Strong analytical skills to provide payroll insights and drive data-informed decisions.
