We are recruiting for a dependable and experience cook to join our busy kitchen and team. A person who has high standards in quality and presentation, delivering the best nutritional meals.
You would be able to work within budgets as set by the home manager.
At The Grove Skellingthorpe Care Centre our residents prefer good old fashioned home cooking for example: Sunday Roast's and for puddings our residents enjoy a jam sponge or crumble with custard.
For Birthdays we make a special effort to celebrate so our Cooks and KA's make a range of cakes and sponges for these special occasion's

The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS / PVG check.
As a Cook you will be responsible for:
• To prepare and serve meals and beverages as required.
• To work in accordance with the homes policies.
• To perform kitchen duties ensuring a high standard of hygiene at all times.
• To use resources effectively and order food.
• Report any issues or matters raised by service users concerning catering to the Care Centre Manager
• Attend mandatory and in house training as required.
• Understand COSHH
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene records as required.
As Cook it preferable for you to have:
• Minimum qualification NVQ Level 2 or 706/2 in Catering, Basic or Intermediate Food Hygiene certificate
• Knowledge of textured and modified diets
• Experience in a care, hospital or commercial kitchen setting would be advantageous but not essential as full training can be provided.
• Have good verbal and written skills.
• To have the ability to relate to our residents in a kind and courteous manner
