Summary
We are looking for a caring, proactive, and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a Key Stage 1 team, supporting pupils in Year 1. This is a wonderful opportunity to help young learners thrive as they build the foundations for their future education. Beginning July 2025.
Duties as a Year 1 Teaching Assistant:
Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities aligned with the Year 1 curriculum.
Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils, including those with additional needs.
Assist with classroom organisation, preparation of resources, and setting up learning areas.
Promote a nurturing, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
Encourage positive behaviour and support pupils' emotional and social development.
Observe, monitor and record pupil progress as directed by the teacher.
Contribute to the wider life of the school, including events and outings.
Ideal Year 1 Teaching Assistant:
Experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably in Key Stage 1.
A calm, patient, and enthusiastic attitude towards supporting young learners.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills as a Year 1 Teaching Assistant.
A good understanding of the Year 1 curriculum and early learning strategies.
A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable).
A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
