Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant Year 1 team. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed individual who is passionate about supporting young learners and making a positive difference in their educational journey. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a Year 1 Teaching Assistant:
Work closely with the Year 1 class teacher to support learning activities and classroom management.
Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils, including those with additional needs.
Assist with the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources.
Support children’s social and emotional development, promoting positive behaviour.
Help maintain a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Contribute to the assessment and recording of pupil progress.
Ideal Year 1 Teaching Assistant:
Experience working with children in an educational setting, ideally in KS1.
A caring, patient and nurturing approach.
Strong communication and teamwork skills as a Year 1 Teaching Assistant.
The ability to use initiative and adapt to the needs of the class.
An understanding of the Year 1 curriculum and early learning goals.
A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
