Job Title: Senior Planner x 2

Ref: E Suffolk RQ1545417

Pay rate: £37.21 per hour PAYE

A Basic DBS is required for this role.

You must hold a current, valid Driving Licence.

Office attendance is highly flexible, and remote working can be considered.

The role:

We are seeking two Senior or Principal Level Planners with MRTPI chartered status.

One role will focus on a standard caseload of DM planning applications and pre-application enquiries, working as part of the area DM teams on day-to-day planning matters.

The second role is more focussed on DM planning applications and enquiries that are below the NSIP threshold, but related to the consented Sizewell C development. This will include major worker accommodation proposals and a variety of development projects under the Town and Country Planning Act that require a bespoke DM resource to focus on.

What the client is looking for:-

Chartered Town Planner (MRTPI)
Extensive experience in DM planning, with a strong understanding of the Town and Country Planning Act and associated legislation
Demonstrated ability to manage complex caseloads of planning applications and pre-application enquiries, including preparing reports, making recommendations, and presenting at committees or hearings
Proven capability in handling a varied caseload of planning applications and pre-application discussions across urban, rural, or mixed-use environments
Experience in dealing with large-scale or infrastructure-related development proposals, ideally including those related to nationally significant infrastructure projects (NSIPs) or their associated Town and Country Planning Act applications
Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and deliver under pressure
Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently and effectively with developers, stakeholders, legal advisors, consultants, and members of the public
Good working knowledge of planning policy frameworks at national and local levels
IT literate, with experience using planning software systems and digital tools for case management and reporting
