Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

Are you passionate about outdoor learning and inspiring children to explore the natural world? Do you love muddy boots, campfire stories, and helping young minds grow through hands-on experience in nature? This is your opportunity to train as a Forest School Practitioner in a supportive and vibrant primary school environment.

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated apprentice to join our team and support our Forest School provision. Working alongside our experienced Forest School Lead, you will help plan and deliver engaging outdoor learning sessions for children aged 3–11, developing their confidence, creativity, and connection to the natural world.

As part of your apprenticeship, you will receive structured training and work towards a nationally recognised qualification.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the planning and delivery of Forest School sessions.
• Support children's learning, wellbeing, and safety in an outdoor environment.
• Set up and maintain outdoor learning areas.
• Learn and model good environmental and woodland management practices.
• Work as part of the wider school team, including attending relevant training and meetings.
• Support with pupils during lunchtime.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a genuine interest in outdoor education and child development.
• Is enthusiastic, caring, and patient.
• Is willing to work outdoors in all weathers.
• Can work well as part of a team and show initiative.
• Holds (or is willing to work towards) GCSEs in English and Maths at grade 4 (C) or above.

No previous experience is necessary – just a positive attitude, a love of nature, and a desire to learn!
