Summary
As a Support Worker, you’ll empower adults with learning disabilities to live independent and fulfilling lives. Working across home and community settings, you’ll support individuals with daily living tasks, personal care, emotional wellbeing, and community participation.
Key Responsibilities -
- Support with cooking, cleaning, shopping, and personal care
- Assist with medication and managing finances
- Help service users attend appointments and community activities
- Promote independence and positive behaviour
- Maintain accurate records and report incidents as required
- Work in both 1:1 and group support settings
Shifts (4-Week Rolling Rota) -
If preferred, this role can be adjusted for fewer daytime or evening hours.
Week 1: Saturday 8am–5pm, Sunday 9am–5pm
Week 2: Sunday 9am–5pm, 5pm–10:30pm + sleep-in until 8am
Week 3: Sunday 9am–5pm, 5pm–10:30pm + sleep-in until 8am
Week 4: Saturday 8am–5pm, Sunday 9am–5pm, 5pm–10:30pm + sleep-in until 8am
About You -
- Previous experience in a care/support role is desirable
- Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support and Active Support
- Passion for working with people with learning disabilities
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable and committed to weekend working
- Knowledge of safeguarding and person-centred care is an advantage
