Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient General Catering Assistant to join our night shift team in Hull, United Kingdom. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about delivering excellent food service.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of food items for night-time service
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper functioning
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards rigorously
- Support the kitchen team in various tasks, including washing up and cleaning duties
- Manage stock levels and assist with inventory control
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during night shifts
- Respond promptly to customer requests and maintain a customer-focused approach
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations in the kitchen environment
Qualifications
- Food hygiene certificate (required)
- Previous experience in catering or food service (preferred)
- Proficiency in food preparation and handling techniques
- Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong cleaning and sanitation skills
- Basic mathematical skills for inventory management and measurements
- Excellent time management and organisational abilities
- Team player with good communication skills
- GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent (preferred)
- Physical stamina to work night shifts and perform kitchen duties
- Flexibility to work varying schedules as needed
