Summary

About the role: Foundation TutorWe are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring Foundation tutor to join our Lifeskills faculty based in Guildford. The Lifeskills Foundation team work to support learners who face barriers to education, including learners with special educational needs, asylum seekers and refugees, as well as those learners who need support with the transition back into education and/or building their skills and knowledge in preparation for their continued educational journey.Foundation Tier 4:This provision is for learners who have been disengaged from learning or are underachieving, and who want to try different vocational options, develop vocational and employability skills, alongside an English and Maths, digital literacy and communication based programme. Experience of work is also part of this programme.Foundation Tier 5:This provision is for learners who need to develop their personal and social skills in order to continue their ongoing education, move onto an Internship or apprenticeship provision or out into the workplace. Learners will also take part in an introduction to a chosen vocational area at Level 1 (or higher, dependent on achievement). The programme includes personal and social development, employability skills, work experience, English and maths, digital literacy and further project based learning and vocational studies.This post provides an excellent opportunity for a tutor with passion and drive who is committed to enabling our students to unlock their potential and switch on to the power of learning.This is a permanent, full time role based at Guildford College.What do you need to be a successful Foundation Tutor at Activate Learning?The role will require an experienced foundation level tutor who is able to deliver to learners aged 16-19 a range of subjects at foundation level across our tier 4 and 5 provisions, including personal development, careers, wellness, digital sessions, and also capable of integrating this content within the format of project based learning, together with vocational pathway sessions in Health & Childcare.We are looking for people who can act as role models for our students and ensure that they leave us with not just their professional qualifications, but the attributes required to progress in the world of work.
