Summary
Driver's Mate
Our client is a market-leading joinery specialist, crafting premium bespoke cabinetry, furniture, and kitchens, all manufactured in-house at their Amersham-based workshops. They are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Driver's Mate / Workshop Assistant to join their growing team.
This is a varied and hands-on role, offering valuable experience across different areas of the business including deliveries, workshop support, and occasional on-site assistance.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery & Site Support:
- Assist the Driver with all delivery-related tasks, ensuring safe handling of high-end products.
- Load and unload delivery vans with care and efficiency.
- Represent the company professionally at customer sites - good communication and presentation is essential.
- Assist installation teams on site as required.
Workshop & Labour Support:
- Support the workshop team with general duties including moving materials, sweeping, and keeping workspaces tidy.
- Help with packing and wrapping goods securely in preparation for dispatch.
- Assist in basic manual tasks such as sanding, assembling components, or preparing items for finishing (training provided).
- Monitor and restock workshop consumables as needed.
Requirements:
- No prior experience necessary - full training will be provided.
- Physically fit, strong, and comfortable with manual labour.
- A positive and flexible "can-do" attitude.
- Good level of spoken English.
- Punctual, reliable, and able to work well in a team.
- Must have own transport to reach Amersham workshop.
- Full UK driver's licence (preferred, but not essential).
- Must be eligible to work in the UK.
- Willing to work occasional early starts, late finishes, or overtime if needed.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm (8-hour day).
- Overtime available (not guaranteed but often offered).
