Role

Role & Responsibilities

As a Study Skills Tutor, you will play a pivotal role in empowering students with SPLDs and Autism. You will design and deliver individualized learning plans, guiding students toward effective study strategies. You'll also collaborate with college staff and leverage online teaching technologies to create a supportive learning environment.

Main tasks include
  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans tailored to each student's unique needs.
  • Guide students in effective study strategies and techniques.
  • Assess student progress regularly and adapt learning plans accordingly.
  • Collaborate effectively with university staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
  • Utilize online teaching technologies to enhance the learning experience.
  • Create engaging and personalized learning materials.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with students with SPLDs and Autism.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in utilizing online teaching technologies.
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
  • Experience with creating personalized learning materials.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student success.
  • Relevant professional body memberships (PATOSS, BDA, PASSHE, ADHSE, Dyslexia Guild preferred).
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • A passion for helping students achieve their academic goals.
