Summary

We are currently seeking experienced London Underground Platelayers to join our expanding rail infrastructure team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on vital infrastructure projects within the capital, ensuring the safety and efficiency of the London Underground network. This will be initially a holiday and sickness cover position with the view to move you into a permanent gang if you work well.

Role Overview:

As a Platelayer, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of track infrastructure on the London Underground. This hands-on role involves working as part of a skilled track gang to carry out essential track works in line with LU standards and safety regulations.

Requirements - Must Have:
  • Basic Track Awareness (BTA)

  • Industry Common Induction (ICI-LU) or Work Site Safety Induction (WSSI)

  • Small Tools Certification

  • Proven experience working in track gangs on the London Underground

  • Good knowledge of LU procedures and safety practices

Desirable Certifications:
  • Manual Handling

  • Emergency First Aid

  • Personal Track Safety (PTS) (We have other weekend work we can get you involved in on NR)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Installing, inspecting, maintaining, and replacing rails, sleepers, fastenings, and ballast

  • Operating small tools and plant safely and effectively

  • Ensuring work is carried out to LU standards and within safety guidelines

  • Working as part of a coordinated track gang to complete tasks efficiently

  • Adhering to health and safety protocols at all times
