We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Cardiac Physiology Assistant to join our dedicated and welcoming team within the Cardiac Department at Broomfield Hospital, located in our state-of-the-art PFI wing. Our department is equipped with the latest cutting-edge technology and facilities, enabling us to deliver outstanding care to our patients.
The Cardiac Department is a specialist unit committed to the diagnosis and management of heart disease. Our multidisciplinary team includes consultants, nurses, highly skilled cardiac physiologists, and administrative staff, all working collaboratively to provide a comprehensive range of cardiac diagnostic investigations. We support both inpatient and outpatient services, ensuring timely and effective care across the patient pathway.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and compassionate individual looking to develop their career in cardiac healthcare within a forward-thinking and supportive environment.
As a Cardiac Physiology Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality diagnostic services within our Cardiac Department. Your responsibilities will include performing resting electrocardiograms (ECGs) and fitting a variety of cardiac monitoring devices. While prior experience and competency in performing resting ECGs is desirable, full training will be provided.
This is a patient-facing role, requiring excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach. You will be responsible for providing clear explanations of procedures to patients and carers, including:
• Basic electrocardiography (ECG) to record heart rate and rhythm
• Fitting and removal of ambulatory ECG and blood pressure monitors
• Fitting, removing, and explaining the use of sleep study monitors
• Uploading and managing patient data via appropriate databases and IT systems
In addition to clinical support, you will assist in the general running of the department, including:
• Stocking and maintaining clinical areas
• Chaperoning patients during investigations
• Accurately recording activity and inputting data into hospital IT systems
• Assisting with the cleaning, routine checks, and day-to-day maintenance of equipment
• Ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to a consistently high standard
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to patient care in a specialised cardiac setting, while developing valuable skills within a supportive and professional team environment.
We work together, and in conjunction with MSE Health and Care Partnership, to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve the health and wellbeing of our patients in a compassionate way, and provide a respectful, but vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate and build careers.
From facilities through to consultant specialists we want to be the best, to achieve this we need to recruit not just those who are the finest in their field but also those who have the potential to be. Yes, experience is important but so is outlook – if you are dynamic, forward-thinking and enthusiastic we want you to join us.
We not only offer you a good working environment with flexible working opportunities, but also the opportunity to develop your career with access to appropriate training for your job and the support to succeed and progress.
Are you a willing, friendly and organised individual? Then we want to hear from you!
