Summary
Communication and working relationships - Effective communication with: o Patients, relatives and carers o Nursing Staff o Clinical staff both from within and outside of speciality o Other medical and service departments within the Trust o Ability to work as part of a team Planning and organisation o Able to prioritise workload efficiently and safely on a daily basis o Able to plan and initiate effective clinical care Analysis and judgement o To be able to analyse and judge appropriate care, follow appropriate protocls and/or rapidly escalate and seek senior support for critically ill patients (adult and paediatric) Responsibility for patient care: o To be proactive in ensuring all patients receive rapid assessment treatment and clinical decision making, whilst ensuring safety and quality Responsibility and accountability o To follow Trust protocols and intensive care unit guidelines to deliver a safe and efficient service Policy and service responsibility o To adhere to policies and guidelines of the Trust o To participate in relevant audit and quality assurance processes o To participate in clinical governance Information technology and administrative duties o To use the Trusts systems to complete relevant medical records both paper and electronic as per policies and procedures o Use IT systems i.e. ICCA, ICE, vitalpac, PACs etc. Responsibility for research and development o To take part in research and development within the department
