Summary
Female Support Worker - Supported Living
- New Barnet, North London
- Full time - 37.5 Hours per week
- £12.31 per hour
Shifts - 7:00am-10:00pm, including: 7:00am-2:30pm, 2:30pm-10:00pm and sleep-in shifts (1-2 per week). You must be flexible to work a variety of shifts including alternate weekends.
We are currently recruiting for a female Support Worker to join a supported living home in New Barnet, North London. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a well-known area, just a short walk from New Barnet Rail Station and close to High Barnet Underground Station (Northern Line), offering easy access across the city.
About our home
This is a female-only supported living home for four women aged in their 20s and 30s. The people we support are all independent in different ways and enjoy a wide range of hobbies and interests. Staffing levels range from one to three team members per shift, depending on individual support needs. This includes both 1:1 and 2:1 support, so you should be confident and capable of working independently when required.
The people we support are social and enjoy being active. Interests include horse riding, swimming, ceramics, drama groups, and volunteering. One individual attends church, and another has a part-time voluntary job. The home has a fun, upbeat atmosphere and is best suited to someone who is energetic, resilient, and has a good sense of humour.
Your Role
As a Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support with daily living. This includes:
- Full personal care, including support for one individual with a MIC-KEY button (training provided).
- Medication administration.
- Meal preparation, encouraging individuals to participate in cooking and make healthy choices.
- Supporting individuals attend appointments and maintain routines.
- Promoting independence while being responsive to emotional and mental health needs

The ideal candidate will be:
- Resilient, emotionally aware, and able to maintain a positive attitude.
- Confident working with individuals with mental health needs.
- Energetic, proactive, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable supporting people with a range of communication styles and needs.
Previous experience is welcome but not essential—full training is provided.
