We're looking for a dynamic and visionary Group Assistant Head of Faculty – Green Technologies to join our team. This pivotal role will be instrumental in positioning Peterborough College as the leading centre for green construction training in the region, empowering the next generation of skilled workers to build a sustainable future.

About the Role

As our Assistant Head of Faculty, you'll report to the Head of Faculty and play a crucial part in the ongoing development, integration, and delivery of sustainable construction skills across IEG Modern Construction. This isn't just a teaching role;

it's an opportunity to:

• Drive Business Growth: Lead the charge in making us the go-to destination for green construction training, managing course bookings, and generating new business for our Centre of Green Technology.
• Engage and Inspire: Create and deliver engaging curriculum and lessons that empower students, as well as those seeking retraining or upskilling, to become the skilled workforce of tomorrow in green energy.
• Lead Strategic Development: Work with the Head of Faculty to strategically plan, design, and continuously improve our green skills content across all construction-related programmes. This includes developing specialised courses in areas like Retrofit, Modern Methods of Construction, Sustainable Building Practices, Air Source, and Solar PV.
• Forge Key Partnerships: Cultivate and manage strategic partnerships locally and regionally, acting as the primary college liaison for green construction skills. You'll identify employer needs and co-create bespoke training and apprenticeship solutions.
• Champion Innovation: Oversee the development of cutting-edge training facilities that simulate real-world green construction environments and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation among faculty.
• Ensure Excellence: Implement robust quality assurance processes for all green construction programmes, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment, and tracking student progress and employer satisfaction.

You'll also have line management responsibilities for a dedicated team, contribute to Ofsted inspection preparations, and ensure the timely completion of reports to stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a highly effective teacher with substantial experience, expertise, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality education that leads to positive outcomes for students.

You'll need:

• A full teaching qualification (e.g., DTTLS, Diploma in Education and Training, Cert Ed, or PGCE).
• A minimum Level 3 or 4 qualification in your subject area (HND, degree, or professional industry qualifications).
• Assessor and Internal Verifier qualifications.
• Significant experience in high-quality teaching/delivery in a relevant subject area, with recent experience coordinating learning in an educational setting.
• Relevant industrial/commercial experience in green construction or related fields.
• A proven track record of leading sustained improvements in achievement rates and the quality of the learner experience.
• Strong IT skills, particularly in e-learning, to develop resources and provide learning pathways.
• Up-to-date knowledge of current initiatives impacting vocational/subject areas, especially within the green technologies sector and Further Education.
• Exceptional verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to inspire and motivate learners and your team.
• A commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion.
