We’re looking for an Mechanical Engineer to join the Engineering and Renewable Transport team who are responsible for delivering high-quality learning to full-time and part-time students, apprentices, and external clients, in an forward-thinking college that is ‘one step ahead’.
Within the lecturing post, you will have responsibility for delivering and assessing a high-quality learning experience across a range of levels of further and higher education and/ or apprenticeships from SCQF levels 4 to 8. This will be achieved through adherence to a comprehensive framework of qualities and standards.
You will support a variety of learners in achieving qualifications, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to enable them to be successful in their chosen career.
Hours
Full-time 08:50-16:50 – with occasional evening and weekend work as required.

Who we’re looking for?
We’re looking for a qualified Mechanical Engineer who is both a professional and expert in what they do. We need a team player who can demonstrate excellent motivational, communication and organisational skills and a breadth of knowledge of Mechanical Engineering including renewable technologies.
We want you to be able to inspire and motivate our students while also being capable of working well with a range of stakeholders and be able to respond clearly and flexibly to different work tasks. You should have up-to-date knowledge of the vocational area, effective time management skills, and be able to work to deadlines supporting us to raise the aspirations and ambitions of learners.
You should have a minimum of 5 years on-site practical experience including knowledge of hydraulics with prior experience mentoring others in this industry.
Ideally, you will have an SCQF level 7 in Mechanical Engineering and a relevant teaching qualification such as TQFE would be advantageous however supported training will be available and provided to the right candidate, to help you obtain these qualifications.
Proficiency in digital skills relevant to the role, including experience using MS Office and any job-specific software/systems.
Adaptability to evolving digital opportunities and willingness to continuously improve digital competencies.
