Summary
We are looking for compassionate, dedicated Health Care Assistants (HCAs) to support adults and children in various settings across London. You will work on a self-employed basis, choosing your shifts and locations to suit your availability.
You will provide personal care, companionship, and essential support that helps our clients live comfortably and independently.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting)
Support with medication reminders and mobility
Provide companionship and emotional support
Carry out domestic tasks and meal preparation
Maintain accurate care notes and report any concerns
Follow individual care plans and safeguarding policies
Requirements:
At least 6 months of UK healthcare experience
Enhanced DBS (or willing to apply)
Right to work in the UK
Self-employed (or open to becoming self-employed)
Reliable, patient, and compassionate nature
Good spoken and written English
Required Training for Healthcare Assistants (HCAs)
If you don’t have some of these yet, don’t worry — we’ll support you in getting trained!
To work with Al-Amal for Care, HCAs should have the following training:
Basic Life Support / First Aid
Manual Handling / Moving & Handling
Infection Prevention and Control
Safeguarding Adults & Children
Health and Safety Awareness
Equality, Diversity & Human Rights
Fire Safety
Food Hygiene (if applicable)
Dementia / Mental Capacity Act Awareness (preferred)
We accept training that's CSTF-aligned (UK Core Skills Training Framework), or we can help direct you to approved training providers.
