Summary

Hull City Psychological Service is excited to offer two opportunities for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our collaborative, supportive, and forward-thinking team. We are committed to delivering high-quality psychological services that make a real difference in the lives of children and young people in our community.
Position 1: Assistant Educational Psychologist – Early Years Focus (Permanent Post)
In this role, you will support our work within the Early Years sector, undertaking a range of psychological assessments (under supervision) and working closely with other professionals to support young children’s development and learning.
Position 2: Assistant Educational Psychologist – Transition Support (Fixed-Term, 18 Months)
This post is part of our ‘Delivering Better Value’ funded project, focusing on supporting children transitioning from Year 6 to Year 7. As part of a team of other Assistant Educational Psychologists, you will work alongside schools, children and families to support positive transitions for pupils with additional needs.
We are looking for candidates who:

Have significant experience working with children, young people, and their families


Possess a strong understanding of child development


Hold a good honours degree in Psychology (BPS accredited) or a conversion degree conferring eligibility for BPS chartered membership


Are passionate about pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Psychology


Thrive in a team environment and can also work independently


Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills


Hold a current driving licence and have access to a car

The successful candidate will be required to start working with the Service from September 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. Please note, one post is permanent, and one post is a Fixed-Term post for 18 months.
