Chef de Partie (Staff Canteen) - Glasgow SEC

£30,000 per annum plus benefits

At Levy, we’re proud to be the official catering partner for The Scottish Event Campus. We pride ourselves on providing an exceptional customer experience for every visitor to the venue. The campus comprises of the SSE Hydro, the SEC Armadillo and the SEC Centre. The company enjoys an enviable reputation as one of Europe’s most prestigious venues with the SSE Hydro consistently ranked in the top 3 busiest venues in the world by attracting over 1.1 million visitors each year.

About the role:

Join the iconic SEC and play a key role in keeping our teams fuelled and ready to deliver extraordinary guest experiences. As Chef de Partie in the staff canteen, you’ll be at the heart of our internal hospitality, preparing fresh, nourishing meals that energise our colleagues throughout the day.

Reporting to the Sous Chef, you’ll lead a section of the kitchen with confidence and care—supporting the daily preparation and service of high-volume, well-balanced dishes. Whether it’s a busy event day or a quiet prep session, you’ll maintain consistency, uphold food safety standards, and inspire junior chefs with your passion for quality.

This is an ideal role for a reliable, hands-on chef de partie who enjoys a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and takes pride in delivering great food and service behind the scenes.

Duties:

  • Menu Planning
Develop and implement diverse, seasonal menus that align with client expectations, dietary requirements, and budgetary constraints. Collaborate with sous chefs and suppliers to ensure dishes are innovative, cost-effective, and of consistently high quality.
  • Kitchen Management
Oversee the day-to-day operations of your area of the kitchen, including stock control, equipment maintenance, and adherence to food safety regulations. Foster a positive, efficient working environment where your colleagues are motivated and supported to perform at their best.
  • Event Coordination
Work closely with front-of-house teams to deliver seamless culinary experiences for events of all sizes — from intimate gatherings to large-scale functions. Take ownership of all back-of-house preparations, ensuring dishes are delivered on time, at scale, and to the highest standard.
  • Quality Control
Maintain rigorous standards for food preparation, presentation, and hygiene. Carry out regular audits and tastings to ensure consistency and excellence, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Waste Management
Monitor food usage and wastage closely, introducing sustainable practices to reduce excess and promote environmental responsibility. Ensure compliance with all relevant waste disposal regulations and company policies.
  • Continuous Improvement
Proactively seek feedback from guests, clients, and team members to identify areas for growth and innovation. Champion training initiatives, process reviews, and the adoption of new techniques or technologies that enhance service delivery and kitchen efficiency.
