Summary

We are looking for a compassionate and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities across the school. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and making a meaningful difference in children’s lives. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a SEND Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of SEND needs, including learning, behavioural, and physical challenges

  • Assist in delivering personalised learning plans under the guidance of the class teacher and SENDCo

  • Foster a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment

  • Support pupils’ social, emotional and academic development both in and out of the classroom

  • Promote independence and self-esteem through positive relationships and encouragement

  • Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and communicate effectively with staff and parents

Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:

  • Have experience working with children with SEND, either in a school or similar setting

  • Be patient, empathetic and resilient, with a positive and flexible approach

  • Be able to follow individual support plans and adapt to the needs of different learners as a SEND Teaching Assistant.

  • Work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with staff and families

  • Hold relevant qualifications or be willing to undertake appropriate training
