The Best Connection Oxford are looking for a Crew Operative for our client based in Abingdon!
Salary: From £13.00 per hour
Expected Hours: 45 hours per week + overtime opportunities at time and a half!
The Role
We have exciting vacancies for Crew Operatives to work across the UK, specifically in Radley, Oxfordshire. This is a full-time, permanent position with the chance to work as part of a dynamic crew, performing installation and recovery operations in construction and utility sectors. You will be working with a small team, often in remote locations, and occasionally staying overnight in accommodation.
Key Responsibilities: Work closely with drivers and plant operators to install and recover matting systems. Operate heavy equipment (e.g., crane) as required. Assist with the installation/removal of mats, pins, and ensuring the mats are ready for transportation. Follow exact instructions to ensure operations run smoothly and safely. Adhere to strict Health and Safety procedures and ensure a safe working environment at all times. Work flexibly across day and night shifts, with occasional weekend work. Maintain high standards of professionalism, integrity, and teamwork. Travel nationwide and stay away from home as needed (Monday - Friday). What Were Looking For: Ability to follow instructions precisely and work as part of a team. Experience operating heavy machinery (cranes) and knowledge of hand tools. Strong adherence to Health and Safety protocols. Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team. Reliable, punctual, and able to use your own initiative to get the job done. Full UK driving licence (essential). Construction experience or knowledge of Transmission & Distribution would be a plus. CSCS card is desirable but not essential - full training will be provided. Willingness to work away from home (100% travel required). Able to pass criminal background checks, motor vehicle record check, and drug/alcohol screenings.
